Theatre Planning Network
Incorporated as non-profit organisation, Theatre Planning Network has been working in theatre, cultural policy, and arts management nationally and internationally.
1. International Collaboration & Coordination
As a partner producer, or coordinator for the both parties involved, TPN has been involving in various international projects, including Dundee Rep's Japan Tour (Yokohama & Hiroshima) with "Dr Korzack' Example" in February - March 2006, and Theatr Wiczy from Poland with "I, Dictator" and "Polish ABC" , October 2011.
As a project coordinator, TPN has been working for Japanese bodies (theatre, companies, industrial bodies and so on) in order inviting artists and arts managers from abroad, including Max Stafford-Clark (Out of Joint Theatre Company), Dominic Cooke (Royal Court Theatre), and Wlodzimierz Staniewski (Gardzienice).
Our other expertises are to organise and co-oridnate "study tours" and "study abroad".
2.Community, Education & Training
TPN has been involving in not only actors training but also drama training for actors and teachers since its foundation with established trainers and teachers from abroad, including, Prof. Leon Rubin (currently East 15 Acting School), Alison Hodge (20th Actor Training), Prof. Helen Nicholson (Royal Holloway, University of London), Dr Chris Megson (Royal Holloway, University of London), Prof. Jonathan Pitches (University of Leeds), James Brining (currently Leeds Playhouse), Dr Andy Kempe (University of Reading), Dr Paul Sutton (C&T), Rachel Betts (Stagecoarch Theatre Arts Croydon), Rachel Smith (currently Aerial Edge), Tim Webb & Amanda Webb (ex-Oily Cart Theatre Company) and the others.
The most important for us is an integration of aesthetic experience with social and practical education.
Also TPN has various experiences as a trainer for arts managers and interpreter's internship.
3 . Research & Information
Our major concern is an interaction of cultural policy and the performing arts practices, and has done a research on arts and bureaucracy, with Dr Haukur Hannesson, funded by the Suntory Foundation.
Also as a partner researcher in Japan, TPN had vaious experiences in researches commissioned by foreign funding bodies and research institutes.
